Potty training a 4yo DCB and all last week was a failure. He flat out refused to use the toilet or potty at all. This morning I was coming out of the bathroom and he asked me what I was doing. I noticed he was playing with the dinosaurs and remembered he loves dinos so I told him I was feeding the dinosaurs in my basement (we don't have a basement). He looked at me with wide-eyed wonder and asked me "You have dinosaurs in your basement?" and I told him "Sure, don't you have some too?" he said he didn't think so and asked me how to feed the dinosaurs where I went into a very creative description about how you sit on the potty and flush the poo-poo and the pee-pee into the basement where the dinosaurs can eat it
. He has so far asked to "feed the dinosaurs" three times. Now all I have to do is explain to his mom about how he "fed the dinosaurs" today, I hope she appreciates the use of my creative story as much as I do.
