I would just politely tell her that she owes you another $40.

She may have figured she didn't owe because you didn't make her pay for the days you took off for the funeral or she may not know that you are using some of your 5 sick days for that week.

I don't know how you do it, but I have 3 sick days per year and if I had a family start in November of this year, I would have already used up my sick days earlier this year. She may just not know that you are using those days as paid sick days unless you tell her.

This is why I'm getting rid of paid sick days and just adding in extra paid holidays instead.
