Yup You just say whatever they say to you:

"He wouldn't get dressed this morning" is met with a "He wouldn't get dressed this morning" "He wanted to wear his jammies" is met with "He wanted to wear his jammies" "She wouldn't let me comb her hair" is met with "She wouldn't let me comb her hair". "She wouldn't eat this morning" is met with "She wouldn't eat this morning".
