In my house all the kids use the disposable straw cups with lids. Even the schoolagers. Cups are only allowed at the table when seated. They are not allowed to get up and walk around with them.
Yes, the kids can drink from a regular cup, but when you have 7 kids sitting at the table together, they get to screwing around, and inevitably, something gets spilled.
