None. It's not my responsibility to have back up care for the daycare parents. It's their child, they find back up care or stay home from work. That said, in 19yrs working with children (14 as a nanny and 5 as a home daycare provider) I've taken one day off because I was too sick to work. Any vacation time or appointments are scheduled well in advance and it's up to the parents to deal with it.
I hear you...but as a parent it's an added plus to not have to worry about backup care. I mean if I as a parent had someone who could watch my kid I wouldn't need daycare. You know? LOL! Most family/friends also work. I'd really like to provide backup care if possible. I think it takes a lot of stress off parents.
