I have done this in the past as well and I always charged $5-10 per 30 minutes. Depending on the family/child.

I know it seems alot but really it HAS to be worth your time or you get resentful when asked to do this.
If you aren't paid well for going above and beyond then I wouldn't feel comfortable or appreciated in doing it.

If you charge too little the parent will see it as a GREAT deal on their end and will start asking you to regularly stay later so I think you definitely have to charge enough that it sends the message that "this time is RARELY available and is ABOVE and BEYOND normal services" but not charge so much that it's over the top ridiculous. kwim?
