Yes, the van does other pick ups and I could not leave a harnessed seat installed permanently in there. The booster he uses belongs to the daycare, but I wouldn't have a problem purchasing one for him to use if I ever needed to.
I haven't explored the options of using a harnessed seat much because I feel a booster is an appropriate seat for the situation.
