Baking soda and vinegar work to remove odors, separately and together. The vinegar smell goes away after it has dried completely.
There is also some product, the name escapes me now, that I found at Home Depot. It's a mesh bag filled with rocks (lava, I think) that is supposed to remove odors as well.
