I had a 5 year old girl I started watching a year ago. She found a play phone (no batteries required) in our toys. She kept asking me "how does it work?", "what does it do?". I told her it doesn't do anything, its just for pretend - you pretend to talk to someone. She didn't understand, and just couldn't grasp the concept of it and lost interest immediately. If she saw me check a message on my phone she would ask to play on it, and I would always tell her no. She also didn't have a lot of imagination, when I got our Mega blocks she kept wanting me to tell her what to build, and the same with coloring pictures, she didn't know what to color and wanted me to tell her. I told her to build or color whatever you want, and she had a hard time with this. She couldn't stick with anything for more than 5 minutes, and got bored very easily. I just found it so sad.
