What method of payment do they use?

With etransfer they can set up automatic regularly scheduled payments so there is no excuse.

For checks you should require 2-3 months worth of check in advance (this is what I do) so you are never waiting for your payment.

For repeat offenders I would require advance checks no matter what OR start charging them late fees.
