This is exactly what I would do. If it were me it happened to I would write up a letter and reference to what really happened and ask to take the craigslist ad down and that I will be contacting law inforcement. I would also mention something about how if she didn't stop with the slander that I would be forced to take her to court.
That's just awful. I hope you kept a log of everything that happened.
