Some parents question everything. I would just make sure going forward that it is very clear as to when you are closed. I decided a long time ago that I wasn't dealing with parents questioning whether the roads were "good enough" or not. So I took the decision out of my hands and now tell them I follow our local school system. If they delay, I am delayed. If they close, I'm closed. If they decide it isn't safe enough to be out on the roads, I don't want parents bringing their kids out on those roads. Too many of them would do it just so they could have the day to themselves.
