If it's something contagious like strep, HFM or the stomach bug, I do give parents a heads up. I let them know what the incubation period is and what symptoms to look out for, mostly because I don't want them trying to drop off their kids who are just starting to show signs of "something she ate" or "teething". I don't say anything about minor colds or non-contagious illnesses. I don't mention names but unfortunately, it's usually pretty easy to figure out.
