They DO catch a second wind. Their bodies produce melatonin in the daytime to help them go to sleep. If they don't sleep, the melatonin levels drop, and then the second wind comes into play. After NOT using the hormone to go to sleep, their bodies "wind up" to get them through whatever is was that was so important that they couldn't sleep. Leaving you with a wild child who didn't get to reset their body's systems, and will then have TROUBLE falling asleep at night.
