I normally close on Halloween because it's my birthday but this year I stayed open and told every family I had that the behavior of the kids/parents over this holiday would dictate the number of days I was closed and the activities over the next couple holidays.

So I basically bribed them (the parents) all to behave or I'd have to take an extra long Christmas vacation with no compromise or care as to what their family's care needs are.

So far, so good.
No one is sick, tired or acting out.
Lucky you

I have one child who says his stomach hurts and he thinks he's going to puke. Course this only happens when it's time to clean up, share, etc. Another had an accident on his cot at naps (never happens with him) and is constantly pouting he couldn't bring his candy to show everyone, and a third has a meltdown at least every 30 minutes. That's all without school agers and with one absence. Jeez
