I once told a perspective client that I had a degree in Early Childhood Education and he said, "Really? Why didn't you go on to be a teacher?" as in an elementary school teacher. He just couldn't believe someone with a degree would "sit at home" and watch kids.
His wife is a nurse and I so badly wanted to ask, "Why didn't your wife go on to be a doctor?"
