Default circle question

What does the circle behind our user names mean?

I see some are gray, some are green... any significance to anything?

I'm assuming green means user in logged in, grey means user is logged out.

Yes; if you move your curser on the cirlce, you get a little message stating that the user is offline/online.

Yes, the green circles indicate whether someone is on or off line.

There is also another mode "invisible" that makes it appear as if you are off-line when you are not. (you can change your mode by visiting your user CP area)

FYI: Moderators and Admin can still "see" when invisible users are on-line. Their circle appears red to us.

Mine is set to invisible so my circle appears gray or not on.

I thought of that, but it didn't do anything on my mac. Just tried it on my Windows 8 tablet and it did show up. Thanks!

The invisible mode is awesome for blocking the dreaded unregistered response of "you are logged in all the time WHO is watching the kids????" drama... For the ones that keep score, anyway.

Been a while since that one was hurled around...

BTW, if you don't log out, then shut down your computer for the night, you can still appear to be logged in...

Thanks. That makes sense. I had never even noticed the little circles until today.
