Default Standard Meal Deduction - 2018

Tom - just confirming. The standard meal deductions for 2018 are:

$1.31 breakfast
$2.46 lunch/supper
$.73 snack

Is this correct?

I am not on the food program.

Yes, you can use these rates for 2018. They are the same for 2019.

When you use the standard meal allowance rate to claim food expenses you do not save any food receipts. You do not deduct the actual cost of the food. You add up the meals and snacks you serve the day care children and deduct up to one breakfast, one lunch, one supper and three snacks per day per child. The rates for 2019 are $1.31 breakfast, $2.46 lunch/supper and $.73 snack. The rates for 2020 have not yet been released.
