Normally I don't administer meds. dcd brought eye drops for pink eye twice a day for ten days. Do you admin eye drops? Also noticed they are only treating one eye and clearly there is green gunk in the untreated eye. I think both eyes need treated. Wwyd? Kid is 3 and constantly touching his face. I've already made him wash his hands twice this morning.

2x/24 meds are to be given every 12 hours. That is a parental responsibility. How lazy can one possibly be?

It's to be given every 8 hours. I just don't understand why both eyes weren't treated. Grrrr!

No, I wouldn't.
I don't administer any meds. It's a huge liability for a non-custodial caregiver. If they need meds, they stay home.
Pink eye is also an automatic exclusion here.

If both eyes are infected, both eyes should be treated.

With the exception of Epipen, nebulizer, topical ointments and lotions, in NYC we cannot administer medication without being certified in medication administration. While I am certified, I still do not give meds because, like someone mentioned, it is a liability.
If you do, have parents thoroughly complete a permission to administer medication form and make sure medication is in original container.

On one hand I wish we had this rule so I wouldn't need to worry about administering meds. On the other hand I think kids who would feel better with Tylenol or cold meds would be brought without and be miserable all day. I don't allow kids to be medicated for anything and attend care. If they are miserable, they get sent home. On one hand I wish we had this rule so I wouldn't need to worry about administering meds.
