Default Second Opinion?

I have an almost 4 year old dcb. He has literally been going to the bathroom every 20-45 minutes for the last week and a half. I started following him to make sure he wasn't playing with anything and he is actually urinating. Not just trickles, but what seems to be full streams. I told mom about it and then insisted she take him to the Dr's. She finally did and the Dr tested for a UTI. The test for a UTI came back negative but confirmed there was blood in the urine so the Dr's said they aren't concerned with it since there are no other symptoms.

Maybe it's me but if this were my child I would be insisting on a second opinion. It could be bladder, kiddneys anything. I would be really concerned about blood in the urine at 4 years old. Not to mention this poor kid cries and says he doesn't know why he always has to go. He wakes up from nap after 40 minutes to go.

And I should also mention he's not really drinking. I leave water out all day and milk at meals. He doesn't touch the water and has a few sips of milk with meals. He is eating normal though.

Frequent urination can be a sign of diabetes, though usually that also includes more drinking too. It would probably be a good idea to get his blood sugar checked just to be sure.

My son was like this when he was younger. It actually happened twice that there was blood in his urine. We ended up seeing a kidney specialist and it turns out he has one kidney smaller than the other.

Does he still have blood in his urine? I would suggest (require?) that they see the doctor again if he still does.

My son still frequently urinates but there is not any more issues with blood.

If he is crying because it's painful... then it should def. get checked out.

I don't know if there is still blood. They figured it out during a urine test at the Dr's. But it was negative for UTI so they decided to just wait and see what happens. He's crying because he doesn't understand why he has to suddenly go all the time. He says it doesn't hurt at all.

My first concern was diabetes as well but he's not drinking a lot. Probably not more than 2 cups a day.
