My daycare space has almost no natural light. How do I make it feel like a welcoming space instead of a dungeon?

I painted it a bright color but it's not enough

Skylight? Add a window? Overhead lighting?

Plants? Hanging and big potted plants in corners? Fake and real? Sheer fabric like a translucent curtain, hanging from the ceiling. Lighting in various areas can be nice- instead of one spot. A mirror that is a window frame style- the kind with the bars criss cross in the middle. Then have the mirror aimed in a way that reflects your plants that are nearby. So it looks a bit like a real window? ... Just some quick thoughts!

Also maybe you can find a couple of big prints of light, bright outdoor areas to put on the walls?
