I have had high chairs over the years but now don't have the space for one. What other options do people use for babies too young to sit in a chair at the kid table?? I've seen the chairs that attach to a real chair but I don't have a real chair in the playroom either. I could use it on the floor but was wondering if one of those seats that attach to the table would be a better option so the baby can get used to being at the table. I don't know if they would work on our little table though. It looks like this:

What does everyone else use??

My former employer used the hook on chairs (she had about 4 or 5 of them):

She used it on a kids table but the latch adjusts so you can use it on pretty much any table. You can keep it attached to the table or take it off easily it also comes with seat belts. At teacher/daycare websites you may be able to get a discount if getting multiple table chairs in one order. As the child gets a little older but if they still not fully ready (as far as staying seated) for a real chair you can still used it but also put a regular chair under it to help support their weight.

I use the graco ones that hook onto the table I have a table just like yours. I can only use them on the ends because it could tip the table on the side. You also have to watch the older kids, they like to hang on the bars on the back.
This is what I have

I have one on each end of the table. It also keeps the wanderers seated while they eat.

I have the older Graco ones as well. I like them way better than the new (soft-sided) kind. I actually had to find mine used on Ebay when I went back into dc 2 1/2 years ago.

I use toddler sized table/chairs like this:

How many babies do you care for? I held a baby on my lap until they were ready to sit up on their own. Then they were in the regular kid-sized chairs, with a seatbelt to start with (it was like a wide fabric belt that velcroed around child and chair back). I'd only have one at a time that needed to be held.

I have one, sometimes two at a time. I hold them for bottles but I am looking for something for a 6-8 month old who is starting solids - way too messy to hold them and feed that!

When they were on my lap, I was feeding them, so it wasn't too messy. I'd set the bowl out of their reach (and I'd wear an apron if they were particularly messy). Once they were feeding themselves, they were sitting themselves, too; then they could make all the mess they wanted!

A little off-topic, but what chairs do you use for this? And would it fit 6 kids comfortably around it for meals?

Just my little ones use the toddler table.
My preschoolers sit at a preschool size table that is stop sign shaped.
It seats 8.

I use the cheap booster seats available at walmart. (with buckles and trays). I buckle it to a child's chair - the typical chairs that go with your table. It sits right next to my tables and chairs. I actually have 3. If my children out grown them (usually by age 2) I just remove the booster then use the chair at the table.

I have Fisher Price Space Saver chairs. They attach and unattach easily to any regular chair. They can recline for littles, have a tray and five point harness. I love how they work for infants on up through transitioning to a regular booster (I use them as regular boosters once they grasp the concept of not leaping out of them).

I have these as well attached to a reg chair. But we eat at a big table. I lovemolluscum contagiosum that it takes them through infant to booster seat
. I don't keep the cushions on tho- too much mess

I don't have the space, but these look like a good idea
http://www.ebay.com/itm/260948991894?hlp=false&var= I know that they come with less seats. I just suck it up and use the high chairs-I don't keep chairs at my kitchen table because my house is full of kids that love to climb. I use the high chairs just because it's less chairs to haul back and forth at mealtimes.

Many states do not allow those

I use the space saver ones that go on chairs. They tuck in to the table and out of the way.
