I Thought It Was Too Early For That!

Said DCD when he dropped off at 9:40 AM. He thought he heard us outside, and seemed relieved that we weren't. Said that he thought it was too early for being outside.



Makes me want to abruptly rearrange our whole schedule, deliberately putting us outside as early as possible.

We go outside here at 830 or 9.

It gets way too hot anytime after that!

I wonder what exactly he thinks is wrong with that?

That is strange. As long as it's nice out we will go to the parks even earlier some days. Almost everyday we are for sure out by 9:45.

My hope would be that he was concerned his little one would miss even a minute of outside time or breakfast with friends??

The reality may be that it would slow down his drop off routine if kid was dressed inappropriately and Dad would now have to do the clothing change to bring kid out to you.....

Is there a noise ordinance there? That would be the only reason I could think of not to go outside early, especially in the summer. Or maybe they're late risers at home? I have a friend who can't get it together before noon most days.

We go outside once at 8:30 and then go out a second time at 9:40.

lol! We are outside by 8:30 here..The kids beg to go out after breakfast. I say play on kiddos! Winter is coming!

I've never sent a kid home for being dressed inappropriately and it probably hasn't occurred to dcd that would be a possibility

in the summer its very hot here, so we are outside sometimes by 830am. Right after we eat. If we didn't, we would not be able to beat the heat and have a good time.

I would probably just ignore it and go on with my day. BUT it is a very odd thing to say.

I take the kids out in the mornings, but I have to be a little careful as to not take them out before 9am as I have a neighbor that is a night nurse and works 11pm-7am. I want to be considerate and let her get a chance to go to bed and get to sleep before I take the kiddo's out.
