My guess is they sound like nothing.
They look like they are for waving around during music time. Like little sticks?

They vibrate and make a chiming sound when tapped against something. this link has a video clip that shows how to use them

Well that's fun. Unfortunately, my wild boys here would tap them against each other's heads so that's out for now.

Seriously, are you looking for Tree Blocks?
I'm pretty sure I know someone who can help you out....

BC, yes I am! That and tree cookies. I asked the landscaper who installed my fencing last summer, if he could do a few things for me, one of which was getting me some tree cookies. Well, he came back with lots of estimates but said nothing about tree cookies. I'm going to have to hound him again.
Oh thanks Starz! Now I understand.

If you link (off the site you posted above) which ones you are interested in, I'll see what I can do.
Pretty sure most of what's on that site is pretty easy to come up with...I bet if I went searching around DH's wood shop....I'd find a ton of them.

We used the wand things in teaching. We tapped them on the file cabinets and the kids knew it was time to transition to something new.

Also, on the tree blocks. We had a bunch of scrap wood from different projects. I took them and cut them into smaller pieces, sanded them and got basically the same thing. Maybe you could ask around for scrap lumber??

I want to get something like these, I know I can get them through amazon too, but I was just searching around the other day. Actually BC, I've got a couple friends who are always chopping away at branches, etc., so I'm going to ask them if they have a spare branch hanging around.

JackSprat, I'm using some of the few pieces of spare wood I have in the basement for my loose parts pile outside. I don't have a lot left though. And some of it has been treated which I won't use.
