I have a dcb that has always been harder to deal with and super hyper (I actually posted about my probation letter last week for him). This past weekend mom got married and he has been with grandma/grandpa all week (was already living with them with mom so not too much change there).

I didn't give out probation letter because I found out about wedding. This week was still bad. Do I still wait until next Friday for improvement now that mom is back or not? I understand he has some changes he is going through but how much time do I have to deal with it?? KWIM? Most of them are the same ones just heightened.

For some families, if you have to wait for things to stop being chaotic at home, you'll have to wait forever. It's the mom's responsibility to figure out how to balance her new marriage with giving her child what he needs to succeed and have better behavior. I'd say start what you need to do now.

I agree. ONLY If the family was perfect in every other way, I would wait it out a few weeks.
