Or something very similar? I'm only finding smaller 10' ones.
Also wondering if the enclosed tube type would be better than the open one?
I would think so (less direct sun heating up the slide part, less chance of tumbling out) except then children are out of sight while in the tube and I don't like that idea at all.

I doubt a slide like that would be allowed if you are licensed. Insurance might not cover it either, looks pretty dangerous.

I plan to ask ahead and see. We've been to this park and kids can't get much speed at all on this slide. I think it would be just as dangerous as falling down the hill itself
which I can't change about my yard.

So your set up includes a hill as well? I was picturing the slide without the hill as being very high.
Yeah we have a huge hill that is the only way to access the large flat area of our yard (we have a really weird yard). Plus it's full of mole tunnels making it super uneven and sketchy to walk down.
I couldn't imagine having a slide this big without a hill to put it on!

Thanks, I'll check those out! You're right on the price... commercial sellers especially are super $$$
I try to DIY whenever reasonable but unfortunately I don't think this is one of those times!
When I went to one of those links an ad popped up for a zip line
Now THAT is something I should consider instead
(kidding of course
)

If its at a local park I would just call the parks department. It may take a few times of explaining what you want, and getting transferred more than once... but somebody ordered it, they should be able to tell you where.

What?! I'm coming over to play.

We have a zip line, the kids LOVE it. It's 100ft. Right now it's just from tree to tree but the plan in spring is to go from tree house to tree house.
It looks commercial. OUCH$$$ GREAT solution for the long hill going down, but how are you getting back up? (I think built in steps, with rock wall hand/foot holds and a knotted rope would be AWESOME.)

My petite daughter (6 years old) went down a slide like that this past summer. She was bouncing side to side and hitting her head on the sides. What ages would this be for?

You should look up "hill slides" on pinterest. Tons of ideas and links!

I emailed them this morning and got a reply already! It's a custom made piece from GameTime.

You read my mind on the rock wall with a knotted rope
we're looking at putting steps in too (for adults).

My (at the time) 3 yr old son and 2.5 yr old niece played on the one pictured without any issues. Maybe larger/older kids bounce around more? I'll have to ask the manufacturer on recommended ages. Was she laying down (for her head to hit the sides)?
Since it's a custom piece, I could ask for less kinks. But having all those turns keeps kids from flying down.

That's where I got this idea with the rock wall to climb up! Great minds
Ok maybe the zip line isn't a bad idea
We've already considered having a pulley for the winter time - it's a great sledding hill but walking up in tons of snow is a chore!
lol this might become the most functional hill ever

Found pretty much the same thing on a different site.
If you Google Slither Slides you will see the various options for configuring the parts. The more pieces you have the more twists, turns and bends you can put in...

Now that i think about it, she was sort of laying back.

I want one of these! (For me, not the kids, lol)
