My DCK, also the daughter of my only neighbor, just told me she is starting a new school on Tuesday. She is only 2, so could have her facts confused. That being said, if my NEIGHBOR pulls her child without a two weeks notice, it is going to get pretty ugly! The backyard playdates will certainly be ending, as will my husband helping out whenever they need some help with home issues (her husband is clueless).
I truly do hope she is just being a silly 2 year old. I would hate to have a relationship compromised. Hmmm, time will tell I guess.

I know she's only 2, but I've had kids say this and then to find out they are talking about kindergarten. Let's hope for that!

I would mention it to dcm. "hey, dcg said this...want to shed some light on it?"

Unless there have been issues or things have not been going well I wouldn't worry about it. I had a 3yo tell me last week that she wasn't coming to my house anymore, and she wasn't, for the weekend.

I jokingly said, "Hey, so I hear you are starting at a new school on Tuesday?" She laughed and said, "Oh, we didn't tell you? I am not sure where this place is..."
Just afternoon paranoia, I guess. Must be Friday ~

I find that toddlers and preschoolers have very little concept of time. Even the 4 yr olds here will say they are going to school on Monday; but really they are referring to kindergarten next fall.
I find it amazing that a 2 yr old would be able to communicate that much information correctly! Definitely update us if it does happen to be true!!

I have a 2 year old that could tell you all about the continents and such. I pointed to the north pole one time on the map and they went into this long explanation of it!
My reaction-

I had two brothers tell me they were going to a "new school next week" a couple of weeks ago. Turned out to be Sunday school.

One told me today "If I get a backpack I can go to school". LOL.. funny how they associate backpacks with going to school.
