Daycare Center and Family Home Forum>When To Disclose Pregnancy To Potential Families?
Unregistered 01:52 PM 05-30-2013
I'm almost 5 months pregnant, and not showing enough that its immediately obvious that I'm pregnant. All my enrolled families know. I plan to disclose to prospective parents during the interview process. Is this okay, or should I disclose in the initial inquiry via email or phone? I don't want to tell people during the initial contact because I feel this immediately sets me up for failure, whereas if they meet me and see my home they may like me and my home well enough to look past my condition.

Opinions?

I do have a tour in 10 minutes where I plan to disclose my pregnancy within the first few minutes.

I'm 26.5 weeks pregnant and it's very obvious on my body frame. I wear loose fitting shirts at interviews and directly bring up my pregnancy, my plans for when I go into labor, my maternity leave, and what will happen once the baby is in the daycare as well. It isn't the FIRST thing I bring up but I do make sure to discuss it.

I've disclosed my pregnancy via e-mails when I sent my handbook but I'm finding that I've been successful upon delaying the relay of that information (at least until they're in the physical space and can see what I offer).
