Just curious as I had a dcp mention that it's always chilly in my house.

What do you set your thermostat at?

Mine is 70 F. The nap room has 2 outside walls so it's 68 in there. I never set it below 70 during daycare hours. I play on the floor with the kids a lot and none of the kids complain about being cold. I wear long sleeve shirts or a t-shirt w/a sweater over it most of the time. If I just wear a t-shirt I feel a little cold but it's winter so I just throw a sweater on!

Ironically during the summer I set the thermostat at 72 F because 70 F feels to cold!

I have gas heat btw.

Mine is usually at 68. But I have a bad habit of bumping it up/down by however I feel. If I'm cleaning and cooking and sweating (which I do easily!) I drop it to 66 for a bit. And if I'm calm and relaxed with the kids and it's chilly I tap it up to 70 for a bit.

When I was a classroom teacher my room was always FREEZING! As a teacher i was moving CONSTANTLY and sweating like crazy so I just had my students wear their hoodies.

My nap room is much colder though, so if it's bad I give extra blankets and put the space heater in there for them.

We have natural gas at daycare and the thermostat is set at 70F.

I have in floor heat at my home and the thermostat is set at 70F.

The difference in the way the houses feel IS different.

My home seems much warmer.

Maybe this DCM has a different type of heat source so it feels different to her.

It could also be that a parent or 2 had dropped off, doors were opened and now it is chillier, lol! i live in the midwest so it can get quite.cold but I typically keep my thermostat @ 67-68. In the summer.I set the central air around 75/76.

I keep mine at 67, although during naptime when everyone settles it goes up to 70, then back down to 67 after. I've had one parent say their house is colder than mine and another say that they keep theirs at 67 too, so I don't feel bad about that temp.

Mine is set at 72F. I would be cold if I had it set at only 67F. Occasionally if we're being really active I'll put it down to 71F for a bit but that's all.

At night I would like to have it set to 68F but hubby gets cold

64 and I am sweating! I prefer to keep it t 60 or 62 during the day and 59 at night but hubby finally won the battle to turn the temp up slightly.

68 during the morning...65 for naptime...70 after nap (I have one toddler that is always cold in the afternoons, she is plenty warm when I get her up from nap but then looks cold after snack time)...58 at night!

I keep mine at 67 from 7a-7p and 63 from 7p-7a. If it gets chilly because it's windy or the sun isn't out, then I will throw on the gas fp for a while to take the chill out. Most of my kids come with 2-3 layers on during the winter.

68 degrees

Tell dcm "yes when the parents keep leaving the door open it gets chilly. Good thing it warms right back up after everyone is here. I do wish everyone would shut the door."

20C-68F is the lowest it is supposed to be by the day nurseries act. I keep it at 25 in the summer and 22 in the winter.

I usually have mine set at 67/68 but even with that the temp inside during the day usually ends up settling at around 72.

Everything for the daycare is upstairs and with the house being newer with in floor heat downstairs and good windows it keeps the heat in really well.

wow, I would be cooking here in the winter. I have to keep mine at 66 degrees, anything more than that its too hot in here and then we have static and dry skin.

It can't go lower than 68 here by law. The center I work in allows us to turn it up to 72 if we want and we have the controls in our room. We often do 68/69 and sometimes bump it up to 71 at naptime because it gets cold since we aren't moving and are sitting on the floor (just an area rug over a cold floor).

In my own house we do 70 when we are home but it is an old house and we have drafts. We don't have a/c.
