I'd like to get a new playhouse for the backyard. Mine has got to be 20 years old and pretty beat up.
What does everyone have or are there any you've been drooling over for your own dc?
I'd kind of like to go with wood, at least that's the way I'm leaning.

I would love to find some pallets and make one but am so not a handy person the thing would probably fall on the kids.

I found the smaller one also listed on amazon for 199. I just added it onto my list of things I can't live without.

I love this whimsical style. My dh...not so skilled 
I looked at a few on Amazon I LOVED but there were pushing $600. I think I am going to get the walmart one too - the price is right! And Dh said I could get that wooden bridge to go with it

Controlled chaos, which wooden bridge are you getting? I've been looking at those too and added one to my amazon cart, it's a 7' long one. But the price just increased 10 bucks yesterday.
I want one that will take the dc abuse it'll get and some of them don't sound that sturdy according to reviews.Nearest Costco is 80 miles away and I don't have a membership.
I'll have to go online to check it out.

How long have you had it? Has it held up to monsoon rains? I am deciding between this and a plastic one and not sure which would fair better come the monsoon season.We have thus one. I bought the wooden playhouse from Costco and it is still looking and holding up great after 6 years of blistering heat and freezing temps! The one I have has no plastic on it. The one I am seeing there know has both plastic and wood which would likesly make it more durable.

It was a bridge for another thread. I have the link saved somewhere but not sure where... It wasn't on amazon. It was around $200. If I find the link I will PM you. But dont hold your breath as I am on a diet which makes my brain not work Haha they do that with the one I've got now. Definitely a kid thing.

My son started pre-school at a new venue he developed a lucrative business selling his grapes to his fruit addicted classmates. After a few months he developed a following of seedy children that would help him move his supply of cotton candy grapes. We decided he needed more space due to his crew constantly leaving crumbs, toys,and grape stems all over our home. With his earnings we purchased this beautiful house! It was great for a while, our house remained clean! However every day we would find 5 or 6 milk drunk kids passed out in our back yard. My wife and I decide it was time to have a tall with out son. We found him behind his desk, face down in a huge mound of powdered sugar, rotten grapes surrounding him....he screamed something about "his little friends". We knew we had to act...my wife promptly scooped him up, dragged him in the house and let him detox while watching PAW PATROL for 6 hours straight. While he was cleansing I burned the house to the ground and extinguished the pre-fab, lightweight trussed building with 4 gallons of water. Needless to say, my son learned how cold it is a the top of the world at a young age.

I got rid of the playhouses in my yard.I found that the "big"kids wanted to just sit there pretending to watch tv.They would hold the door closed and not let the 2 yr olds in their clubhouse.I replaced them with climbing toys and it worked out so much better.I loved the idea of houses but the reality was constantly not good.

My sister used to work for a toy company that got bought by Posh Tots where they sell play houses like this. She got employee discounts along with sales. When my kids were young, she bought them both their own play houses. They were very well made. All kids play like this. Also, it's not really meant to hold a lot of children. I think it's best for one or two kids. Second, kids want variety. I had this when I started my daycare. I prompty replaced with a bunch of cheap plastic ones.
