*sigh*

After years of doing this job I think the thing wearing me out the most is the disrespect of my property. I know the dcm who ran into my car was an accident but it is a constant issue. Just this week I had someone run into my car, break a light in my garden (no mention of it, just left it in pieces,) let my dog out, hit the big rock that I put in front of my sprinkler head (had to laugh at that one - it's a BIG rock and it saved the head from getting broken!) and left my door open when I had the AC on. When you walk into 68 degrees after being in 104 degrees how do you leave the door open?

I am so tired of it! Are parents getting dumber, ruder, more self-absorbed or what? It's never been this bad before! The way my place is set up I can't see out front so I cannot babysit these people on the trip from my front door to their car!

You need to fortify your property like a prison, have someone to escort your dcps & kids on & off your property, as much damage as they're doing to it!

How can these people be that clueless???

Can you buy a camera system for around $150-200 to record and monitor them for you?

Dcm came back in a told us. My hubby and I went out to take a look. It's just the bumper and she did offer to pay for it. Less than a year ago another dcm ran into my sons truck and had to pay for a new bumper and dent. I've NEVER had so much damage. I already threatened to make the driveway off limits when they kept running over the sprinkler heads. Instead I just lined the edge of the driveway with BIG denting rocks. Maybe I need a gate across the top of the driveway. That would be a pain for my family though.

Sorry Crazy.... I know this has been an on-going issue for you.

Maybe it's time to just start having the parents park on the street. Limit drop off's and pick up's to 10-15 minutes MAX so they don't upset the neighbors/other street parking etc..

I agree with you about the parent's and being self absorbed....If I had even a penny for every time I've had to tell a parent to shut the door (due to the AC or furnace being on) it would have paid my heat and light bill for the year.

I even raised my rates on my worst family and outright told the increase was due to the DCD always leaving my door open and letting AC or heat out and never remembering the next day not to repeat it. (BOTH parents laughed when I said it)

If I were in your shoes, I'd either go the off limits to the driveway or I'd get a camera and start holding each parent accountable for what they ruin.

Wow, seriously you are having a bad run with this!
I agree, I'd definitely make the drive way off limits, AND raise rates to pay for a security camera... on them.
