My friend and potential business partner took daycare training classes quite a few years ago...would that training be expired now if we went to apply for a daycare license ?

What kind of "training"? In most states, to be licensed, you have to meet several requirements such as -- First Aid certified, Some sort of introductory type class on your state's regulations, have your house inspected and verify that it meets safety standards, etc., etc. I would think all that would need to be done within a very recent time of your official opening.

We take various classes in PA that expire every year or every two years depending on the type of class. Your Degree in ECE or Child Development would not expire, unless state requirements change.

In my state, in the south, training does not expired but I must take a required large amount of hours each year and those hours do not roll over to the next year (so, in a way they "expire").
I must do first aid and cpr training every 24 months as well.

I am required to take a specific number of training classes each year to maintain my license.

In Utah, providers must have 20 hours of training every year to stay licensed. Ten of those must be face to face in a classroom setting.
