Would anyone be interested in sharing some of the recipes for their most-loved goodies they make for Christmas?
After seeing a plateful of Spud's yummies, I'm thinking oooh I wish I knew how to make those.

All my baking is given as gifts. I live on my own and don't entertain. I'm keeping it simple this year. I'm making:

and a sugar cookie type cookie with Hershey's Candy Cane Kisses in the middles.

If, on a whim, I decide to bake something else, great. If not, these three recipes will do

Mmmm! Good idea! I love Christmas cookies!

Here are my absolute favorites! If I only make one type of Christmas goodie over the holidays, these are the ones. (recipe below)

dough:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour

Cream all but flour until light and fluffy. Add flour. Shape into balls. Make a thumb print in the center. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-16 minutes, or until edges are just starting to turn golden.

filling:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 Tbsp flour
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup coconut
1 tsp vanilla

Cream filling mixture. Sparingly top cookies in thumb print indentation. ~about 1/2 tsp per cookie.

topping:
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 Tbsp water
2 Tbsp butter

Melt and spoon over filling mixture on cookies. Let sit for several hours before packaging. Separate with waxed paper in airtight container. These freeze well.

~makes about 70 cookies
