DCM text me terminating care. Thats it- no reason, nothing.

How would you respond?

I am pretty sure its because I have been enforcing policy lately and she is throwing a tantrum.

BTW- I have cared for the DCK for over 3 years 2nd shift too.

I just say, "thanks for letting me know. I've enjoyed having DCK. Final payment of ____ due on _____. "

I had a parent do this same thing through email.

But, I was relieved to see them go. It was an awkward 2 weeks wondering why they were leaving, but was so glad to see them go, I didn't even waste the breath asking them why they were leaving. When I closed the door behind them the last day, I did a happy dance!

I don't think I WOULD respond to her. It was her choice to make, move on. If she owes you any money though I'd 'text' her back stating what she owes and be done with it and/or just send a certified letter. Keep it simple.

I hate the uncomfortable feeling but just make sure you are paid what you are owed.

If you require written notice, I would say so.

If not, then I would simply reply "Thank you."

Wonder if she is bluffing....seems there is a lot of that happening lately.

I would not text back, I would talk to her in person....

I do have a 2 week notice in my contract.

But she is on state assistance, so collecting my 2 weeks won't ever happen.

I do believe it is a blessing in disguise, but not at a real good time.
