Time off, that is?

I am trying to go over my time off (vacation, holiday, personal) and I don't want to overdo it, but I also want to make sure I am getting enough family/down time. Is there a point where you would think it's too much? What is that?

I take 10 paid holidays, but no paid sick or vacation days. I know many providers do, but I haven't felt comfortable taking more than this yet...although it is REALLY tempting!

For me personally, I never work more than six consecutive weeks without atleast one day off (NOT counting weekends).

Makes for a happy, well adjusted mentally prepared provider.

This makes me not feel quite so bad. As I was intitally going through I realized there wasn't one month where I didn't have at least one day off

I have in my contract:

2-3 weeks unpaid vacation
5 unpaid personal/sick days
Federal holidays-unpaid

So far I have only done my Federal holidays since last April.

10 paid holidays and UP TO 10 additional unpaid vacation/sick days. I schedule the majority of those out in advance and give the parents a schedule for the year. I have been known to cancel the vacation days I usually schedule between Christmas and New Years (due to finances ).

I take:

10 paid vacation days
5 paid sick/personal days
10-12 paid statutory holidays (I throw in Christmas Eve and Boxing Day which are not considered stats in my province)

No parent has ever questioned these days off with pay. This is the norm in my area. Next year I am upping my paid sick/personal days to 7!

15 paid days off total (including holidays and my vacation time).
Any other days off are unpaid. I don't schedule a certain amount.

This year I will have 15 days off paid and 10 days off unpaid for my maternity leave. Where I am, this is pushing it.

I care for teachers kids so I am off - a lot.

I get paid all stat holidays that fall in the school year plus Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Years Eve. I get 5 paid sick days. I am closed when school is closed to teachers. Snow days closed paid.

March Break closed unpaid, Easter weekend closed paid, Thanksgiving closed paid, summer closed unpaid.

I have a monthly fee all this is calculated into, so even though a week in March is unpaid it is averaged out into the other months so I don't get hit hard that one month. I do take some dropin over the summer.
