Ok so I know pale people get mottled skin more often than other people do.

This dcg has been under the weather, but nothing worth keeping home for.

I had to change her clothes because she made such a mess of them, and I noticed her skin is really mottled.

I never would've noticed this if I hadn't taken her clothes off.
And it's not cold in here so it shouldn't be from being cold.

She has a runny nose, no fevers but has been warm last few days. Other than that she is happy and dancing to the music with everyone else, laughing and giggling.

I've only really noticed that when the kids are cold. I am sorry I don't have an answer for you.

the face.
If a rash appears, usually it has two or three distinct stages:
  1. A bright red rash occurs on the sides of the face and sometimes on the forehead and chin. This rash usually is gone within 5 days.
  2. Another rash appears on the neck, trunk, forearms, upper legs, and buttocks. This rash starts as round red spots and begins to take on a lacy look. It can be itchy, especially in older children. This second stage lasts a week or less.
  3. After the body rash fades, it may come back if the person is out in the sun, gets too warm, or is under stress. This rash lasts 1 to 3 weeks. Even though a rash comes back, it does not mean your illness is worse.

Thanks Michael,
I've been wondering the same thing lately too. It's been really cold where I am, and it seems all the kids have red cheeks!

I know that slap cheek/fifths disease went around a school outside out town.

But the red cheeks is supposed to last a week or so. And it only seems to last a few hours to a day.

It's not a rash either, it's just mottled.

she has a runny nose, has for a long time. puffy eyes all the time (I swear she has allergies). The mom passed me the flu a week or 2 ago, and dcg never get the flu that I am aware of other than diarrhea. And she was warm and cranky the last time I had her, but she's fine and happy today. Wicked cough, very raspy.

UGH

We had a domain name convention here is Santa Monica last week that I attended. Many from around the world that traveled here got sick. We've been keeping tabs on it and it is very alarming. Here are a couple stories about it from our industry publications that you might find an interesting read.

That seems like there was a lot of illness that was spread there. I hope the cases aren't too serious.

Are you telling me that people got slap cheek there? Because I live in a very small city in Canada, and it went through a town outside of here. And now it's here.

LOL MICHAEL I BLAME YOU if we have slap cheek :P

I'm bumping this one up again.

I heard that pink eye is the last symptom to come in effect from this virus/bug that has been affecting everyone non stop since winter started.

Coincidentally, I happened to come across a virus called Adenovirus in my research. While reading all the symptoms that this can cause, being there is an entire family of adenoviridae (serotypes), that cause everything from common cold to pneumonia to pink eye, it seems to fit quite well.

It is also transmitted through water vapors as was suspected with the fog machine!

I wonder if this is what is hitting everyone, since I've seen other people post about the pink eye other than me!

I know that my friend and I ran to walmart to pick up more pink eye drops yesterday, and there was only 3 left, and we grabbed 2. It has hit big time, everyone is getting it weeks apart from each other.

I want to say that we have been doing the treatment of drops for my entire family (5 of us), and it appears to not be helping. We are on day 5 of treatment, and our eyes are still much the same, and the drops seem to irritate it more. The redness has disappeared, but the goopage has become worse. I was thinking that it's not actual bacterial, and that it was viral, and that it has to run it's course. I am trying to get into a doctor asap but seems to be proving impossible.

I plan to post this post as well into a new thread, and I hope everyone is willing to read and comment. It will require you to research adenovirus a bit, and see if it sounds like the same stuff your kids (maybe yourself) have been seeing/feeling/suffering from.
