I have a dck who just turned 2. This child has been with me for about 8 months and has always had massive blowout diapers. up to 7 times a day.

I have talked to the parents that this seems to be dairy related, they just ignore me.

The kid has been coming every Monday with diaper rash and I can't seem to ever really get it to go away with the number of blowouts I am changing each day.

I am also on the food program, so I can't restrict dairy from his diet without having a doctor sign off for a dairy alternative.

I have same kid.

Put it back on parents. If child has more than one "loose" diaper, they get sent home.

My DCM tried to give me the special diet statement filled out too but she didn't bring it to the doctor but instead, filled it out herself. When I told her the doctor needed to do it, she just said SHE knew her child better.

I told her I knew MY daycare/food program rules and the child can't have any restrictions unless the doctor says so.

I just keep sending the child home.....atleast once a week. *sigh*

I can't force a parent to do anything but I can stop ME from being the one caring for the child.

I even offered for DCM to bring the child's food but she kept "forgetting". I got tired of reminding.

Now, it's basically the same routine day in and day out. Child comes first day. Poos bad. Gets sent home. Comes back 2 days later. Rinse and repeat.

It's not MY issue.

I totally hear what you are saying. I think my issue is that I know in my heart of hearts that if I were to do the right thing and put it back on the parents eventually they would just pull their child. RIGHT now I can't fill spots, so I am trying my best to see what else I can do. I have a waiting list, but it is filled with children who won't be able to start until the fall when all of my older kids take off for Kinder.
(sleep issues) and I wish I could put the problem back on the parents. I just know that they will just pull the kids and find someone else who will deal with it. I know it won't be my problem anymore, but my bills will be my new problem.

That does seem to be dairy related but until you require a Doctor's note it seems like nothing is going to happen.
