My daughter has been gone since May 26 working at our church camp. She has gone there many years and volunteered there for a few weeks last year to earn credits to help pay for one of her trips last year to Canada with them. She turned 16 in July while she was there. Now she is starting her sophmore year in HS Monday, all advanced placement classes, starting college next year so what happened next caught me off guard lol.

While she was gone this summer I decided to start working on re-opening my daycare. So I picked her up this afternoon. She just walks in here out of the kitchen and I guess read the labels on the tubs she passed and said to me.... "YOU GOT LEGOS???" I said "yes but they are the big ones for toddlers". So then she says "well can I play with them sometimes?". I could only say "whatever makes you happy dear". She's going to love this daycare thing. To bad she is already applying for other jobs, I could really use her lol.

I think that's why I stay in this biz, just to have an excuse to play with the toys.

I had an interview with a couple 2 weeks ago and the dad was going all a-goo-goo over the toys, picking them all up and saying OMG this brings back memories! It was really cute to watch.

By the way, your dd sounds amazing!

That's awesome, that your dd has such a great attitude about your daycare. She sounds like a great girl

She is pretty great most of the time. She has her days though lol. She is learning to drive right now and if she doesn't slow down I might never allow her actual license. We have nicknamed her Andretti.

My daughter is 15 and she loves that I have a daycare. Both of my kids end up playing with the toys sometimes, and often times I find myself doing art projects or coloring as I find it very relaxing.

Your daughter sounds very sweet.

Lol!

My dh was in Target with me the other day and while I was looking for something in the pet section, he wandered off.

I found him in the toys looking at Legos!

My 18yo son often pitstops by a toy and plays with it for a bit. It is funny.

Well she did get the legos out today. AFTER she asked "so what other cool toys you get?". Then she found bowling and said "cool bowling". I guess I am thrilled she still enjoys a fun time LOL. She is so sad right now we have no kids for parents night out tomorrow night. I am trying anything to get started again right now, but no-one wants to pay for anything. Every week I get a ton of questions when I post parents night out on facebook and when they hear the prices they run for the hills. Is $25 for drop off at 5:30 PM and pick up at midnight and $45 for all night with pick up at 10 Am so bad? When I am offering dinner, movie, craft, play time, possible walk to the park and breakfast (for those who stay overnight) so horrible?

OH and I should add that the average weekly rate in my area is $80.
