Yay! I feel better than I have in over a week, NO daycare kids today and it's dh's day off. Dh took ds out for some guy time. I have already done my shopping, cleaned the house, made laundry detergent, did some art with my girls. AND it's only lunch time!!! I had to share with people who would understand.
Now that my work is done, I just may sit down and watch a movie this afternoon.....
You go girl! Now, GO and RELAX!

Sweet! You are a better woman than I am. Whenever I find myself with unexpected time off I find myself doing nothing but puttering around the house (and loving it)

Homemade Laundry Soap
1/3 bar Fels Naptha or Ivory Soap
½ cup washing soda
½ cup borax powder
~You will also need a small bucket, about 2 gallon size~
Grate the soap and put it in a sauce pan. Add 6 cups water and heat it until the soap melts. Add the washing soda and the borax and stir until it is dissolved. Remove from heat. Pour 4 cups hot water into the bucket. Now add your soap mixture and stir. Now add 1 gallon plus 6 cups of water and stir. Let the soap sit for about 24 hours and it will gel. You use ½ cup per load.

Another homemade laundry soap recipe, if you prefer a powder:
1 bar soap (I prefer Ivory; Fels Naptha has some nasty things in it)
1 cup borax
1 cup washing soda
Grate the soap--use the fine side of your cheese grater. Stir all three ingredients together for about 5 minutes. Store in a container. Use 1-2 TB/load. Voila! It works great You can scent it using a few drops of essential oil, too.

Been using it with my HE machine for about a year now. Works great. It's a low sudsing formula, which is all that the HE detergents at the store are anyway.
How many loads about would you say those recipes do? I wash at least 2 loads per day at my house.

I make up a batch (5 gallon bucket full) about every 2 months or so, and I do at least 2 loads a day, too.
