I am putting out my "2014 Holiday Schedule", I was wondering who's taking off Good Friday and/or Easter Monday?

I am thinking about taking off both days....

I am closed for spring break the week of Good Friday. If I wasn't I'd take both days off.

I'd personally do both, but I guess it'd depend on how many other holidays I'm taking through the year

Why would it depend?

I'm closed Good Friday but that's it.

This morning I had a dcm come in and say she had to check her policy book yesterday to make sure I wasn't taking one of my "random days off"

I said,"You mean holidays? Those aren't really random, haha."

Insert awkward silence. For the record, I was open yesterday.

I will be taking Good Friday off in 2014. On occasion, I have taken both Friday and Monday off but since Memorial Day is just 4 weeks after (and I close both Friday and Monday then) I don't want to have so many 4 day weekends that close together so I usually use a paid close day another time in the year when there are longer stretches that no holidays fall on.

I do not... I do take all Missouri State holidays plus paid vacation so I doubt 2 more days will fly especially when most have to work

This is me. I follow our school schedule. Depending on how early/late Easter is depends on whether the schools take Good Friday and all of Easter week for spring break or whether they get the week before Easter including Good Friday off. This year it is the week before Easter and then Monday is a teacher workday so I will have to be open Monday since I have all teachers kids.

Taking Good Friday off this year instead of New Year's Eve.

We like to go to Good Friday services and have asked the last few years if parents will p/u by 5 so we can go (we close at 6, but none our parents have to work past 4:30),. Both years everyone said sure no problem , but then we have had a child not picked up until 6pm on the dot and both years it was because they were "getting a little shopping in, so sorry"!

I don't take either off. If I did, I would take Good Friday off. This Easter Monday might be a stretch. I'm sure that all of my parents are working on Monday.

I don't take either of those days off, but I do take other holidays.

I am feeling so blessed to have the DCF's that I have. Even if it is an inconvenience for them, they never say anything about me closing for holidays (You deserve a day! the will say). I even had to close a half day last week to take my youngest to an appointment with a specialist that couldn't be rescheduled. Maybe they gripe to themselves, but not to me. I am astounded sometimes about how rude and thoughtless a lot of other providers DCF's are.

I didn't take any of those days off either, but I am really hoping that my parents did and they aren't coming....lol
I know for a fact that 2 of my parents have Good Friday off, but I can bet a million dollars that the one family will bring their child!

This is why I take it off...just like the Friday after Thanksgiving. Most of my parents have it off, but they would bring their kids and go shopping or something. I don't begrudge them a day of fun without their kids; just not those 2 days.

Come to think of it, in 3 of 4 Friday families, both of the parents would be off, and I doubt the dads would be caught dead in a mall on black Friday. Still, somehow I think the kids would be here promptly at 7am.

I usually have Thanksgiving dinner at my house. So, there's a lot of post-dinner cleanup left on Friday. I do NOT shop that day, except online.

I don't take either. I take federal and personal days but I don't take these two as personal because I don't celebrate them and there are other days I'd prefer to take Plus none of my DCPs have the day off.

I don't know anyone that gets Good Friday off! It's not typical maybe in California? I've never actually heard of that before! I won't be taking it off personally, but it it is typical for your area and it's important to you then maybe you should!
