Daycare Center and Family Home Forum>Quiet Boxes For Naptime?

It was mentioned on here that some of the preschoolers get quiet boxes to play with during naptime? What would you put in them?
I usually let them take books with them and if they're still awake 30 minutes later, I give them puzzles. But I'm thinking the 3's and up might like to do something different yet still quiet.
Thanks!

I used to do boxes, but now mine are less formal.

I have "special" books, the small Scholastic ones with the plastic overlays that change the picture. I've got several dozen of those and only use them at naptime.

Card sets. Picture cards, matching cards, rhyming cards, beginning letter cards, regular decks of cards.

Felt boards. I found a set of small (about 8x10) felt sets with a variety of animal habitats and the accompanying animals.

That's what we have out right now. I switch everything up now and then. HTH.

Thanks for the ideas! With yard sale season coming soon I'll keep my eyes open for different things. I used to give them all pencils and their own notebook. After finding one of the 4 yo dcbs name in a lot of the books, I smartened up.

I do have a few magnetic stories and lacing beads, maybe I'll start with those.
