What do you do when you need to go to the washroom and you are waiting on a kid to be dropped off?

Usually, I wait.....while doing the potty dance. But if I can't wait, I lock the front door and go really fast. So far, noone has come while I'm in the bathroom

I eat lots of fiber in the morning (chia seeds in my smoothies, mmm...) and coffee too, so I'm very "regular." But I do the ol' lock 'n run too! It's very stressful lol!

Usually I wait, though sometimes I can't. Parents shouldn't be offended if they come and you happen to be in the bathroom, because you're a person too! I know some of them would be, but they are dumb

pee fast! Seriously.

I do have an entryway that is divided by a half door. When parents arrive they take their child's things off and hang them in their cubbies. There is a bench in the coatroom so they can simply have a seat until I am finished with my business.

My families are almost all on their 2nd or 3rd child in attendance so most are pretty laid back and comfy here so this is not something I have ever stressed about or had an issue with in all my years of doing this.

I unlock the door and run. I'm not regular and if I wait too long, I can't go and I pay for it for hours.

My daycare is right off the front door, so there is no where they have to go to get to the daycare space.

I have a powder room in my front hallway so I race in there, lock the bathroom door (since at least one kid will always have to pull the handle down when they come in...why, I don't know..) and try to hurry...LOL! But I have had a parent come in while I'm in there so I cough or drop the lid down so they know I'm close by...LOL! When Obnoxious Stalker Dad was still here I'd NEVER go until he had come and gone even if I thought I'd wet myself...he usually made some totally inappropriate comment to his kid or to me (!) and snickered like he was the comedian of the year...just one of the several reasons he's no longer here..

I go. All my parents know how to open the door, sign their kido in, take off their coats and hang their stuff up! It is the same if I am changing a diaper,or helping another child, or moving over laundry, or cleaning up a mess. Same at pick up.. They sign them out and get their coat etc.

This and if it's pick up time, I'll have ds or dd watch out the window and let me know when someone pulls in.

When I used to babysit for 2 kids (at their house) I would always try to wait until they went down for there nap. There dad always called everyday between lunch and the beginning of nap time to ask me how they were doing (their first kid died of SIDS so he is really overprotective) and one time I had to go really bad when I put them down for their naps and he called when I was on the toilet- Awk-ward!

I keep my door locked, so I just go when I need to go. If I know someone is arriving any second, I will potty dance my way through it. If the parents have to wait a minute, they don't know whether I'm changing a diaper, cleaning up a mess, or using the bathroom myself.

We always joked about doing this at one of the centers I worked at. There was NEVER anyone to let us go to the bathroom. We always said we would make our own cubbies for our diapers.

This. I wouldn't lock the front door because then I would have parents knocking and ringing the bell and I find that more annoying then them coming in on my bathroom time.

This is me too, and I can't always go "quickly". I have only had to go once while waiting for a drop off, and I just went and brought DD with me. When they arrived, I yelled from the door, "be right there, DD is pooping" (she's 2, and needs help, so it worked out.)

While you can not predict mother nature I do make sure I get up in time to do all my private business before 6:30 am, my first drop off.

The time that I am the most unsure about when to go and not go is during my "time of the month", where I am in there easily every 2 hours. I just put babies and crawlers in play pens, I lock the glass storm door and go. I have not been "caught" yet, but I am just going to tell them I had to go.

I can't imagine any parent not understanding.

I just go. I do leave the door to the bathroom open and have a front door alarm so if it buzzes I just give a holler and say: Going potty, I'll be there in a moment". I never shut the bathroom door anymore, if I do some child opens it or cries while pounding on it cause he/she can't see my face. If I leave it open they don't even bother me.
