I couldn't help it, I had to post this here!

"Offering cloth diapers, attachment parenting, special diets, and more childcare stuff in my home.
Hours are 7am-7pm.
If you need earlier or later, that is not a problem.
Rates are depending on hours. Usually part time runs around $100ish a month per child. And $200 a month for full time.
Discounts for multiple children."

What?! $200/mo plus cloth diapers and special diets? and what is "childcare stuff" exactly?

I thought I read it wrong at first but nope $200/mo! Our market for child care averages around 450-550/mo and occasionally I'll see people offering $400/mo but this is a first.

Wow - super cheap! The provider likely has no idea how challenging it will be to keep extra kids in her home & I am guessing she thinks it is a cake walk. She is likely to burn out quick sad but true.

It's more than likely a new mom who is needing to make a few dollars while she stays home and raises her own.

She may only be able to have 1-3 kids which wouldn't make it real hard to at least do the minimum.

She is already probably an AP parent herself so it would be fairly easy for her to continue that type of care for one or two other kids as long as they aren't the same age as her child(ren).

Cloth diapers are not hard to manage and I actually prefer that parents use cloth. MUCH less waste and a lot more eco-friendly.

As I've said in previous posts about price; Not everyone does child care to earn a living. Sometimes it is simply for a few extra dollars or to cover the expenses of having the child...which is highly dependent on what services are offered.

$200-$300 a month would not be difficult to find here. I've even seen ads on CL here advertising for $40 a week full time. I am economical but I can't feed a child two meals and two snacks a day on a full time week for that money. Of course, we've already established the state only pays $40 a week here for childcare anyway... UGGGHHHH

its pretty rare to find under $100 a week here.

I am $75 a week per kid flat rate, ages not specific.

Now private sitting (which I do as a nanny and what not) is higher (about $150-$200 a week)

Why bother listing hours if in the next sentence you say before or after that time is fine too?

Wow! I just read one that said she is getting licensed, but isn't yet (that's illegal here) and that certain days she is only one day until 12:00pm and one day until 3:30 and one day until 5:30 and that she will provide food, but clients have to pay her back because she has to buy food with her food stamps!

Beginning in the middle of August, I will be needing childcare for my 2.5 year old toddler and 2 month old infant. I can provide all the meals and milk for both children. A SMOKE-FREE HOME IS A MUST.

I typically work weekdays from 1 to 10pm. I need to have someone with a semi-flexible schedule. My hours won't change for the most part but my days off are subject to change. I am looking to spend $20 a day and I am wanting to stay in the West Knoxville/Farragut area.

I recently joined a group on FB of supposedly daycare providers in our area. I even had an ad up. I recently took it down. The other ads on there are terrible. I do not want to be associated in any way, shape or form with other providers that are "SAHM of 2 or 3 kids looking to babysit a few kids real cheap". This site was inundated with these types of ads. I am so much better than that. I offer a quality home daycare.

There was one girl that said she would only charge $1 per our, $2 for 2 kids, WTH, How? How can you pay for food, electric, water, sewage, insurance, and taxes, and only charge such a small amount. Oh wait, you can't unless you are doing it illegally, as in not paying taxes on your income. Then there was one person that was advertising she was a "nurse", and she isn't and never has been , that in itself is so wrong. Now I know why I was reluctant to join that group.....didn't take me long to leave it. It is so sad that so many people think this is an easy job. It isn't, and it takes money to run a quality program.

I would be willing to guess it's someone that just got laid off or fired and that fee is to supplement her unemployment.

But you can't legally supplement your unemployment without declaring it. You are only allowed to make a small amount extra before they deduct it from your unemployement, again illegal, but people do it all the time, not claiming what they earn.

I'm in Mississippi. The bad thing is that the cost of living here isn't cheap either!! By that's what we get for the welfare state. We have to spread it around so everyone that don't work can get it, so even those that are working hard like my dcp only get $40 a week per child and that's even for infants!!

But we can charge parents the overage here though.

And centers get a lot more than in home providers.

Right now I'm at my five max and all five are state pay from two different families.

I just can't imagine how anyone stays in business!! Is it just supposed to be supplemental?? At least you can charge on top of that- imagine if you couldn't!

that's exactly what I was thinking. They will either burn out quick or change their rules after a few weeks.

If I couldn't, I wouldn't take state pay at all. No way can I afford to watch a child for $8 a day. Not happening. The only good part is that all of my five extra are afternoon. So they come here and then at 830 after bedtime routines, they go to bed I stay up but I normally would anyway. They leave by midnight
