Hello was wondering if anybody can give me any insight regarding licensing for dance school or Gym type of facilities in California. I'm a little confused about child licensing requirements when the business is a dance school or kids gym such as mygym. Not all of the parents stay for the duration of the class in these settings.... We were hoping to start offering A preschool program at our studio and get involved in 'parents night out' type of events where parents drop their kids off and go out for couple hours on the town.... Do we need a license?Any input or guidance is very much appreciated

Here in PA, brief care (under 2 hrs I believe) doesn't require a license, such as the child care areas inside gyms, churches etc. I would recommend you call the state agency who governs child care there (here it is the Dept of Public Welfare). Sorry I couldn't help more. Good luck!
