Daycare and Taxes>How Much Cleaning Type Can You Claim

I was wondering if you are able to claim more then your 1 hour a day on cleaning?

Also, can you claim the time you are working outside-mowing lawn/cleaning toys/cleaning vehicle used for childcare/doing repairs/landscaping in childcare area of yard.

I always forget to ask my tax lady this! So I'm thinking especially when the winter is nice I could work several hours on the weekend doing the above or even 2-3 hours a night if I spread it out through the week. I wasn't sure if its deductible time though.

There is no limit to the number of hours you can claim that you work in your home on business activities. I once won an audit where the provider worked 2 hours a day cleaning. You need to keep records showing that you did this work.

You should only count hours spent on activities that you wouldn't be doing if you weren't in business. So, don't count mowing the lawn. You could count shoveling snow. If the activity is both business and personal, don't count all the time.
