I downloaded the free trial and am thinking of upgrading. I'd like to hear in what ways it's been useful ti your Daycare business

Also wondering if u accept payments through their billing is there a monthly fee or something?

I do, makes tax time super simple. I input everything and then print out the worksheets to do my taxes (or hand over to tax people if you have someone else do them).

Auto payments cost $1 per transaction, you can choose to charge the parent or you for the $1 (If you choose yourself as the payee, it deducts the dollar from the payment) It does take longer to get your money. If payment date is Monday, the payment is in your account on Friday. I pay the $1. But well worth it to me. Plus the $1 is 100% tax deductible. I still pay less in $1 fees than it would be to drive to the bank.

I also use the sign in sign out sheets and the childrens daily reports for parents.

When it goes into your account where does it go? Your bank account or an account like paypal? How does that work?

I don't do the payment with MMK but I have used the software for years. I love it and yes it makes tax season so much easier for me.

I currently use it because the food program insisted on it. Now, they are changing programs.

I used it when I was providing daycare in the past and already have it installed to use again once I start providing care. I go through daily and manage attendance and meals (they even have an iphone app for this) and then enter purchases and time information regularly as well. At tax time I print it all off and voila! Love this software

You set it up to go directly into your bank account. It takes longer to get deposited into your account and it costs $1 per transaction but it's well worth it if you ask me. Both your yearly fee and transaction fees are 100% tax deductible so you can't go wrong.

The other thing I like about it is if a payment doesnt go through the parents account, like NSF, it never tries to go through your bank so your bank doesnt charge you a NSF fee. Minute menu charges, I think $3 or $5 transaction fee. So I still charge my parents their NSF fee plus late fees for not getting my money on time, but I dont have to pay my bank fee too.

Almost all my parents use it and love it.

Yep, and I love that you can invoice the parents and that a copy gets emailed to them. Using Minute Menu Pro also freed up some time and money from having to write or print out receipts. Parents like logging in if they want a receipt for their payments and print them at home. Not all of my parents pay me electronically but even the parents that don't like being able log in and see their accounts. I love that it does absolutely everything for me. I recebtly had a client move away and it was so nice when she said that she'd call me later to give me their new address so that I can send her a W-10 and I just asked her hold on and had one to give her in 2 minutes. I don't know how I got along without MMK before.

Other than the auto-pay option (we live in a very rural area and none of my dcps have good internet access), do you use the other parts of the software? Are there other programs other people use that they like better, like Quickbooks or some other?

I use all of the accounting section and the attendance section. I can enter the hours the kids are here, the amount of time I spend on other work related things, all of my income and all of my expenses along with my work related mileage. When it is tax time it is just a matter of printing out the appropriate reports.
