Or doing the same kind of thing for various holidays (Like tissue paper Christmas wreath....Valentine's Wreath...Easter Wreath...) or the "stained glass" tissue paper window decorations for various holidays, or handprint art for various holidays, etc. Do the kids care? (My DD would love it, she always wants to make 12398734 of whatever craft we do)

If I'm partially doing that stuff for parent pleasing as well as kid pleasing (the projects that fall in that middle ground between process and product, kid-driven and adult-driven), are parents going to scoff and think I"m "lazy" or something?

Am I overthinking this? Should I just say "OH, COOL CRAFT!" and go for it even if it's the 7th tissue paper window decoration this year?

I try to change it up a little bit but every so often this happens and I don't care.

I try to change it up a bit between holidays but I do repeat some crafts each year. Last year we did confetti eggs, a paper egg with small bits of various colours of paper (think home made confetti) glued on. It was easy but looked great so we did it again this year because it was perfect for my 12-18mos olds. The 2.5-3yr olds love any crafts, repeats or not so they did it too. So, I repeat a few crafts and do a few new ones. Parents don't seem to notice or care.

I do what works but change it up a bit. Collages with bits of paper is a favorite, we'll do that several times a year. Last year we did it for rainbows, watermelons, apples, pumpkins, and random collages. Same technique, but different project.

The same with shaving cream art. The kids love doing it!

One word: Pinterest. You'll never repeat a craft again.

I say if the kids like a craft who cares if you do it a thousand times. You know as well I as I do most of the crafts end up in the trash but if the parents DO keep everything it is a great way to see how their child skills are growing.

The ones I tend to repeat are hand or footprints crafts, or picture crafts. And sometimes if there's a favorite one kids want to do again.

This. It's process, not product and if there are multiple of the same type, you can see how the child is developing.
