I had originally told a family I would take their baby when she went back to work after maternity leave. However now that the time is near I am finding I am going to need to tell current families that are part time that I can no longer take their children due to the new baby as I won't have any room. I also have decided I really want a break from babies as my two have just started walking.
What is a nice/professional way of telling a family this news?

Did they give you a deposit? Do you have a contract with them?

Dcf,
A change in circumstances has led me to be in a position that I am no longer able to accept your infant into care. Included in this letter is your deposit for $x.xx. I wish your family the best and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Sincerely,

I had to do the same thing twice in the past few months, and like the letter above- right to the point. It was tough for me, because I knew I put them in a bind (at least temporarily), but if you're having doubts, I would just send an email.
