DCG Broke Her Wrist Today :(

She'll be 9 yrs old on Sunday. In fact, she's having a birthday party on Saturday, and will be in a splint and sling.

Poor thing! She was playing wall-ball at school and a basketball rolled by that she didn't see, and she tripped and put her hand down to catch herself. Went to the office and they put ice on it and sent her back to class. She later told teacher it really hurt. Back to office and they saw it was swelling, so called Mom to come get her. Went to Urgent Care clinic, and found out it was broken!

They splinted it for now, and in 5 days she'll get a cast that she'll have for 4-5 weeks. So now she'll be in a splint and sling during her birthday party. Luckily it's her non-dominant hand. Glad also that it didn't happen on my watch!

I felt so bad when Mom called and told me. I've had this girl since age 2. She's so well-behaved and polite, she's smart too. Just a great kid.
