I just bought a set up the Imaginaiurm foam puzzle mats for the floor ... I am putting them in our foyer, which is a part of the daycare, with a slide and then I'll have that bouncy zebra thing over there, too. But, I just put them out last night and already there are pokes in it from my dog's nails - he's a shepherd/husky mix. He will NOT be a part of the daycare once I have kids here (he will be gated off from hat area), but on the weekends and evenings, if he's running through there (walking on them didn't do it, it was when we had a visitor come over and he was excited running around) put the holes/pokes in them.

Am I just going to have to deal with it? I tried to "fold" up the mat to put away, to see if that would work on the weekends, but it just fell into all the different pieces possible.

I know this is a weird question, but is there any type of cover or spray that you can put on them to make them last longer?

(I attached a picture so you can see the set up, and how it's hard to avoid having them walked on - that's my son on the slide, and the front door is to the left.)

I cant answer, but if there was, that would be great! I have wanted to use mine as flooring, but i could see having to put it back together multiple times a day! also, it would help with cleaning

Could you glue all of the pieces together so you could pick up the thing like a rug and move it on the weekend?

That's a good idea ... it's large, but it is something that could slide easily behind the piano we have. The only thing is that I would like to be able to switch the letters around sometime - DD has a BLAST jumping from letter to letter when I called them out. That game could still be played, it just would be the asme every time...

I haven't ever bought the ABC set...
but.. I did buy the foam flooring for my room... about 3 years ago...
see pics at

www.texasjeepgirl.shutterfly.com

I have a love hate relationship with it...

I use it over concrete floor... but.. there is an area of indoor/outdoor carpet below most of it ...
the carpet is in great shape for as old as it is...but UGLY..so I put in the foam floor on top..
Things I hate about the foam floor..
it 'walks'.. so I have to readjust it....
the kids ... babies.. love to pull the edge pieces off...
that drives me NUTS...
which is why I would never buy the ABC set...( tell us later how often the kids have all the ABC's pulled out...)

Things I like about it..
washable...
and.. you can vacuum it..

Um yes, I have already given my daughter MANY reminders to NOT pull the ABCs out. I may end up gluring at least the letters into the square so that they cannot come out.

I had those for my sons room when he was little. White carpet and a baby not so good. They lasted long til he got bigger and decided to take them apart all the time I finally decided to put them away and only use them in the garage. Then decided to sell them. They were not worth the hassle of constantly fixing.

I never thought of glueing, that may have fixed my issues with them.

no idea on the holes but if you turn it over and use duct tape over all the letters it will hold them in the squares. That saves tons of problems.
